The Sentence

The jury was sent to deliberate the facts of the case which are:

A. Testimony of the victims as to their injuries

B. No testimony or medical records corroborating the injuries of the victims

C. Detective Cell Phone analysis that did not definitively place Joseph with D. Bean or the additional person

D. Testimony of the additional person that he did not know who Joseph was

E. Testimony of D. Bean that Joseph hired him and not his cousin

Additional Admitted Evidence

A. A text message between Joseph and his child's mother where he felt he would be murdered if she kept harassing the CI

B. A phone log showing D. Bean calling Joseph after the shooting which went unanswered

C. Joseph en-route to another state

The jury voted guilty after several hours, and Joseph was sentenced to 40-80 years, D. Bean was given 15 years for his cooperation and the additional person was given 30 years for his role.

We still have an uninvestigated and uncharged person on the loose, who has reached out and admitted that Joseph should not be incarcerated for this crime. He has also expressed shock that Joseph was ultimately convicted on this crime he did not commit. Although, his admission is appreciated, he knows he is better off with Joseph in there and not himself!
